Even if the Paris massacre is a reaction of some odd action, it is not at all defendable and ought to be totally condemned. Leaders like Azam Khan should realize that there are times when one must rise above the religious consideration and speak for the wider community.
If millions of Hindus can speak for the Muslims when they are antagonized, then why can’t the Muslims speak for the Christians when they have suffered at the hands of terrorists?
It is true that terrorist activities can neither be attributed to Hinduism or Islam, yet the fact of the matter remains that most of the terrorist activities are being planned and executed by the Muslims. Isn’t it true that these terrorists are getting morale support from the Islamic World in the name of Muslim brotherhood?
Brotherhood is definitely one of the best aspects of Islam, but why can’t it be extended to the entire humanity and not confined to Islam? Why can’t those who propagate terrorism be isolated within the community even if they are Muslims?
Undoubtedly, Islam does not stand for terrorism, nor can terrorism be termed Islamic, but then it is for the Islamic world as a whole to come out and deplore all such acts of terrorism and stop giving shelter to such people who have committed crimes in the name of religion. How can be persons against to humanity, be of service to Islam?
The law is very clear in its approach – not only those who commit crime are criminals, but all those who help such persons in whatever way are also offenders! It is time that the Muslim World realizes this, sooner, the better.
